WEDDINGS - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.

This is a long winded page but it sums up a lot of questions in regards to scheduling my services for your big day, as well as how I approach and ultimately shoot your wedding. Please read through the below questions & answers and feel free to contact me afterwards with any additional requests that you may have.

WHY CAN'T I FIND YOUR PRICING INFORMATION ONLINE?

I choose to provide pricing upon our first consultation. Every wedding is unique and different in their own way. I tend to tailor a package together based upon your day and your needs and wishes. While I do have my 'standard' rates, I do not feel it is adequate to lump services into a single rate for an event such as your wedding day. It happens only once and we will put a package together that insures your memories are captured in a way that you will love and held on to in ways that you and your future generations will treasure.

With that said; I rarely turn down work if I, and my style, are what you envision for your day. Contact me and let's talk about it!

DO YOU SHOOT DIGITAL OR FILM?

I shoot strictly in digital format. This allows for much faster processing times and quick back-up of your files.

WHAT IS YOUR SHOOTING STYLE?

I shoot in a photo-journalistic, or story-telling, fashion. I tend to blend into the crowd and capture the moments and the ambiance that lie within. I rarely ask people to pose or smile for the camera, there is plenty of emotion to go around, from the father of the bride's happy tears to close family and friends' heartfelt smiles during your first dance. I pay close attention and ensure that the intricate details of the day are captured as well, from the special cuff links for the groom, to the specially chosen table decorations at your reception.

DO YOU HAVE A 'SHOT LIST'?

As stated earlier; every wedding is unique. I typically do not work from a shot list as it may not relate to your specific day.  As you and your family & friends enjoy your day, I will carry on doing what I love to do; recording your day and the memories that lie within. Of course, the standard detail shots will be taken, as they should by any photographer handling your day.

If you have a list of certain 'required items' and family groupings that you would like, I urge you to discuss with me prior to the event and provide me your wishes so that nothing interferes with my being readily available during all 'moments'.

DO YOU HAVE A SECOND SHOOTER OR ASSISTANT?

Rather than a sole 'second shooter', almost every wedding day has an associate with me. I have an amazing team of people and will almost always have someone working as a second during the needed times and assisting at others. This allows the day to go as scheduled much more easily, as well as allowing for even more of our best work.

DO YOU CHARGE FOR TRAVEL?

Within the greater Houston area there is no charge for travel or expenses. For Dallas, Austin, San Antonio and most places that are only a drive away; there will be fees for mileage and one night in hotel (I usually request to stay in the same hotel as the wedding party when ever possible)

For destination weddings I require that all travel expenses are paid and request, usually, a minimum of 2 nights in hotel (the night before and night of the ceremony). If you are considering me for a destination wedding, outside of the state of Texas, it is best to contact me and discuss the details and we will tailor a package to suit your specific needs.

WILL YOU COME TO THE REHEARSAL?

That is up to you! If you're wedding ceremony is 'different' than the norm then I almost always strive to be there. In most cases it is not needed however, if requested, I will be there as my schedule allows.

DO YOU DO FORMAL PORTRAITS?

The easy answer; Yes! Do I require them? No.

I do recommend getting the formals done so you can have them available to, not only yourself, but the extended family that you might include. In certain cases these can interfere with the timeline of the day's happenings and I also want to ensure that we do not miss any great shots from the reception that follows.

It is best that we discuss what you may be looking for and I will ensure that all is handled in a timely manner.

HOW MANY PHOTOS WILL YOU TAKE?

This is hard to answer. Every situation is different. At some weddings I may shoot 500 photos, at others it may be closer to 1500. On average you will receive anywhere between 300 and 1200 for proofing. It is a large margin, I know, but there is just no 'general' answer.

DO YOU DO VIDEO AS WELL?

Yes I do! I can not, however, photograph & capture video of your wedding day. I have an amazing team of videographers available to capture your day. We do not simply provide 'moving pictures' set to music; we strive to tell your story in a way that will keep you watching for years to come. I highly recommend budgeting, if possible, for included video packages and we can tailor a package to tell your story that suits you perfectly.

WHAT HAPPENS IF OUR TIME RUNS OVER?

With limitations, this is often not a problem. Of course, if we are speaking hours then we will need to discuss extra pay for the time but for small amounts I will happily work with you.

I shoot weddings for one reason; I love doing it. There is not another day that is filled with more emotion, more joy and more happy faces than your wedding day. As a photographer and a story teller, I couldn't ask for a more perfect job. When you hear people say they have a 'passion' for the work; you will see this passion from me throughout your day. I can't help but smile with you in your special moments and I am honored to share those moments with you. It will show in my demeanor throughout the day as well as in the images provided to you.

HOW LONG BEFORE WE SEE OUR PICTURES?

Imagine having over 1000 photographs to go through, to choose the best of, color correct and ensure they are top notch! I spend countless hours in the editing room giving your images the attention they, and you deserve. While it is difficult to give an exact time-frame, it usually takes no longer than 3 to 4 weeks to deliver your complete set of images. In most cases, I will have a 'teaser' gallery available within one to four days of your event. I always guarantee 6-8 weeks for delivery!

DO YOU HAVE AN ONLINE GALLERY FOR VIEWING?

I will provide a password protected gallery online for viewing and proofing your images. This gallery is shareable with anyone you choose and you are able to purchase print products directly from the website.

DO YOU DO WEDDING ALBUMS?

Of Course! I work with one of the absolute best wedding album companies in the world, GraphiStudio. They are known to have the best and widest range of products of the best quality by far. This is what you take home from your wedding day and we want every client to have a showcase of of their story for years to come.

DO WE FEED THE PHOTOGRAPHER?

It is common courtesy that a meal is provided for each member of the photography team and will be in our contract that this is provided. I am sure you can agree that if your photographer were to take a break on their own they may miss a special moment that would have otherwise been caught. I recommend that the photography team is served at the same time as the bridal party so we can be ready when you are finished.

HOW WILL YOU DRESS FOR OUR WEDDING?

I will always be dressed formally in slacks and a vest or jacket, in clothing that allows me to perform at my best. If their is a special request of attire I will be happy to oblige.

I HOPE THIS IS A GOOD START TO ANSWERING WHAT I AM SURE AMOUNTS TO NUMEROUS QUESTIONS AND WORRIES YOU MAY HAVE IN REGARDS TO YOUR WEDDING DAY.

The main recommendation I can make is to ensure that if you decide to book me, or anyone else, please make sure you are happy with the style of photography that we provide. I have yet to meet a client that doesn't love what I do and the stories I tell with their images and would hate for you to be the first because of expectations of something other than we have discussed. Just as important; choose someone you will enjoy spending your day with as the one person who will be closest to you through the entire day is your photographer. I always strive to be a calming presence on a day that can be stressful for you.

I've said it before; I really do love what I do and weddings are among my favorite part of my job. I am honored that you have considered me for the job and will be even more honored when chosen as the person that enables you to share your story with generations to come.
