Houston Wedding Photography - Chateau Polonez - Claire & Greg

I must sound like a broken record at this point but, I can not say it enough times how lucky I am to have the clients that I have. Claire and Greg are no different. Well I have to take that back, they are awesome! The definition of a busy couple; I met Claire and her mom way back in August of last year, then Greg a couple of months later...and didn't see them again until the rehearsal and dinner! We never had the opportunity to get those engagement shots done (which we re still going to do, right guys?), and rolled right into an amazing wedding day at Chateau Polonez.

We here in Houston know exactly how the weather has been over the last few weeks and were expecting more of the same on this past Saturday. The sun, however, decided to grace us with her presence for most of the day...the floodgates opened just after the ceremony!

When you have been doing the job that I am blessed with doing for a while, it is rare to see something all-together new on a wedding day. Claire had something in store for us all, including their guests that surprised many! Just before the ceremony she pulled me aside and told me of 'the happenings' just after the ceremony would finish. When I met Claire, she had short hair but had let it grow long for the wedding. To the surprise of many, her hairdresser was prepared and directly after the ceremony her long locks were chopped once again. A new experience, a change of pace and some great additional photos and video to tell their story!

Claire & Greg; I only hope you know how much of a pleasure it was to spend your day with you, your family and friends. Every one of them were fabulous and made my entire team feel like a part of the family. Thank you for allowing us to capture the memories of your day! I hope you enjoy these few samples as much as I enjoyed being there to capture the moments!

I have to give a HUGE thank you to Lawrence Moody for the amazing video skills and to Collen Vu for being an absolutely rocking 2nd photographer! The day would not have been the same without you all!

Houston Wedding Photography - Ouisie's Table - Dani & Jonathan

A funny story begins my little journey with Daniella & Jonathan….We have all had one of those days when the phone rings…and rings…and rings…and it is nothing but sales and spam calls, right? The very first time Daniella called me was on the evening of one of those days. A number I didn’t know called and a voice on the other end of the line says; ‘Yes, hello, who am I speaking with?’ Now any reasonable person would simply answer the question but after the many calls that day my reply was something like; ‘Well you called me so you should know who your calling.’

I was probably more than a few shades of red after that first conversation and, to be very honest, I told my wife shortly after that I would probably never hear from Daniella again. I felt absolutely horrible! But she called back and soon we had wonderful meeting, discussed their day and they stuck with me! I always say, and truly believe, how lucky I am to do the job that I do and witness the sharing of so much love on a regular basis; I know in this instance that increases ten-fold!

High school sweethearts, Dani & Jonathan met in their freshman year and here they are today. Quite honestly one of the sweetest and caring couples I have ever met, I can’t even elate how honored I am to have been the one to capture their memories.

Everything began at Brush & Blush Blow Dry Bar where the ladies were all pampered wonderfully. This place is awesome. The staff were all friendly and the manager, Greer, was one awesome person as well! They did a perfect job on Daniella and all of the ladies there.

From there we were off to the Hotel Granduca (How can one go wrong there) and then to one of my favorite wedding spots to work at, Ousie’s Table. I have said it before, I truly love this place. The restaurant/venue is beautiful. The staff, from the service members to management are all wonderful and always ensure the night goes smoothly. Finally, the food…If you haven’t been, you need to go; it is delicious!

Dani & Jonathan - Thank you so much for trusting in me to capture the memories of your day. You make an amazing and beautiful couple and the love you both share is easy to see by anyone who may be looking. The hospitality of your families was amazing as well and every single person I met was a pleasure to spend time with. I can see where you both get it! I wish you both the absolute best for your future together but know, with the faith you both share, nothing will break the two of you…

I hope you enjoy the few samples from the wedding day while we work on the remainder!

Houston Wedding Photography - Brennan's Houston - Beth + Brian

Once Upon a Time in a land……

I will spare you all the attempt at a fairy tale on my part. There would be no need anyways when you have these two lovely people before you! Never before have I worked with a couple that is more comfortable and easy going than Beth & Brian. From the very first time meeting them, over a craft beer on an outdoor patio, in the Heights it was easily seen….these two belong together.

The few moments in time that we had together were just the same; easy! Their first session finished beautifully only a short distance from their home on the Heights walking path. Their wedding day? Simply Beautiful!

You can never go wrong with Brennan’s as your venue (or for a meal at any time). The restaurant is beautiful. The staff are fabulous. The food….delicious. The day began with some thundering and ominous storms to welcome the morning ceremony but that only meant it would be moved inside. No problem at Brennan’s and it turned out wonderfully!

Beth & Brian - I hope you know how happy I am for you both and how honored and humbled I am to have spent the time I did with you and your family and friends. You make a beautiful couple and not just in photos but in who you both are. You will always remain in our thoughts and prayers and I pray for many blessings throughout your life together.

I hope you enjoy these few samples from our time together while we work on the many more to follow!

as always I must give a shout out to my awesome associate, Joel Gutowski…You rock! Thanks for your hard work!

Houston Engagement Photography - Hermann Park - Layking & Paul

Engagement sessions tend to be one of my favorite parts of the wedding package.

Couples like these two make the job even more enjoyable than it tends to usually be. I met Layking & Paul, for the first time, at a coffee shop in town. This is pretty much the norm for those in our business. I sat waiting when laying walked in and said Paul had been there all along, sitting across the shop from me. Good ice breaker, a little laugh and great conversation followed.

Layking on meeting Paul: We met in an organic chemistry class at the University of North Texas. We were lab partners at first, then we became friends and started rock climbing together. Soon after we started dating, I transferred to the University of Texas at Austin. We took a leap of faith and decided to try out “long" distance.  Luckily Austin and Dallas are close enough for weekend trips. During this time Paul had the opportunity to visit Ecuador multiple times and meet my family. The first time, he spoke very very little spanish so naturally, he could not keep up with our five-thousand-words-per-second conversations, the second time his Spanish was much better and he knew all his favorite ecuadorian foods, fruits and places to visit. To me, he was just like another Ecuadorian :) He blended in so well (except for his blond hair, fair skin, green eyes and lack of dance moves). The third time he visited, he secretly asked my parents for my hand and patiently waited for the perfect moment to propose. One year after, he asked me to marry him during a hike in the Redwood National Forest. We have been dating now for 6 years and could not be happier.

And when Paul met Layking: the thing I liked the most about her was her curiosity and her sense for adventure. We love to rock climb, hike, and play soccer together. In our relationship we have been lucky enough to visit some amazing places, like Big Bend, Crater Lake, and even Ecuador. My favorite trip so far was to the Redwoods National Forest, where I asked her to marry me! We love to travel and discover new places, our next adventure we have planned is for Costa Rica for our honeymoon.

They are one of those couples that are naturally comfortable together. As with most sessions, it took some time for that to show in front of the camera but not very long at all. After a walk around the park and taking some time for some photos they even decided to let loose a bit. They dressed down a bit and grabbed a soccer ball, which is one of their favorite hobbies, and we finished the day off with them enjoying the evening together as they would have if I had not been there.

It was a pleasure to spend the evening with both of you and it is an honor to know that I will be capturing the moments of your wedding day....under one month away!

Below is a sample of our evening together. I hope you enjoy them and can't wait for the wedding day!
